The current Clean Sweep Auction, incredibly their three hundredth auction - it is their unique to the industry affordable all sports card, autograph and memorabilia auction. Nearly all of the items in this auction have a retail value of $500 or less and very low minimum bids.
The auction takes place over two days. Day one is baseball autographs, day two are baseball cards and memorabilia and all of the other sports.
Baseball autographs begin with many unusual signed cards, including a 1952 Topps Bobby Thomson high number and a 1960 Topps Roger Maris All Star. There is a nice run of signed Perez Steeles, and a deep offering of signed Yellow HOF Plaques. Signed 8x10 photos include several Mantles, many HOFers and some fine group lots, including a terrific Phillies collection offered in three lots. For 3x5s and cuts, there are rarities going back to the early 20th century, HOFers and many quality lots. There are some nice signed large prints and a wide offering of signed programs, with terrific content. We have many signed jerseys and other pieces of signed equipment, and many team sheets.
Day one concludes with signed baseballs and bats. We have a wide offering of HOFer and star signed singles, with nearly every mainstream HOFer included. There are some scarce balls and many nice group lots. Team and multi-signed balls go back to the 1930, and include some interesting pieces. The signed bats include a fun run of tougher signed mini-bats including Harry Caray and many nice HOFer and star signed bats.
Day two starts with baseball cards. Checking it at well over 600 lots, this is almost a small auction unto itself. There is a nice selection of complete sets and lots going back to the 1950s, including oddball sets and higher grade sets. You'll find a run of unopened boxes and packs. Single cards range from the 1950s to the present, generally higher grade, with classic Mantle cards, HOFer Rookie Cards and contemporary stars.
Basketball collectors will see two Bill Russell cards, one signed, and many signed items and programs. Boxing collectors will see three Ali signed items and a very unusual 1971 Panini card. Football is always a big part of these auctions. There are cards from the 1950s to the present, many nice autographed items are included, with fine signed PSA slabbed cards of Lynn Swann, Bob Hayes and Bart Starr among others. There are signed footballs, jerseys, mini-helmets and a terrific collection of HOF Induction signed 8x10s dating back to 1977. One fun item here is the ticket and program from the first game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO.
Baseball memorabilia includes many nice vintage pennants, a run of tickets, some interesting pubs including a terrific 1890s scorecard with several HOFers, fine press pins, Hartland Statues, quality vintage photos, some game used equipment and many interesting unsigned vintage baseballs in the original boxes among much more.
